Sydney, 6 August 2010 - Interactive Intelligence (Nasdaq: ININ), a global provider of unified IP business communications solutions, has enhanced its ANZ presence with the appointment of Shane Immelman as Application Engineer for the company’s new Communications-as-a-Service Offering. Based in Sydney, Immelman joins Interactive Intelligence with more than 15 years’ experience in engineering, technical support, logistics, procurement, project management and research. He will be responsible for ensuring smooth deployment of the company’s new Communications-as-a-Service offering which provides private and public sector customers with the option of deploying hosted contact centre solutions. Most recently, Immelman was Telephony Systems Engineer with Amtel Communications based in Auckland where he was responsible for the design, installation and configuration of IP telephony contact centre systems. This included the design of IVR systems and liaising with clients on change management as well as overall project management of new contact centre installations and upgrades. He previously worked for eight years at WesBank in South Africa in several engineering and systems management roles. As Telephony Engineer, he held responsibility for management of all the bank’s new contact centre telephony projects, including workforce management, business continuity, telephony management and capacity planning. He previously worked in the bank’s systems administration and held technical support engineering roles. Immelman commenced his career in the South African Police Service where he worked across several roles over a seven-year period, including Technical Support Engineer within the organisation’s Criminal Record Centre. “Hosted contact centre infrastructure solutions are steadily gaining ground in enterprises of all sizes and in a variety of public and corporate verticals.
